From February 12th to 14th, the CHISAGE ESS team came to the Iraq International Energy Exhibition, showcasing our key products and solutions at booth D33 to take a closer look at the local energy storage needs.
Market introduction
Iraq, an oil-rich Middle Eastern country, suffers from chronic electricity shortages, with nearly a third of its electricity supply imported and electricity generation relying on imported natural gas. To support economic modernization, the Iraqi government has begun encouraging the development of renewable energy sources, particularly photovoltaic energy.
According to data, Iraq’s average daily sunshine duration can reach 8-10 hours, and its average annual sunshine duration can reach 3,000-3,650 hours, creating conditions for the large-scale development of photovoltaics. To promote energy transformation, Iraq has approved a special fund worth $680 million, which plans to invest $100 billion in the green economy by 2035.

The 9th IEE Iraq International Energy Exhibition and Conference, sponsored by His Excellency Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al Sudani and the Ministry of Electricity, provides opportunities to strengthen cooperation with investment companies specializing in electricity, as well as how to build bridges towards economic integration and encourage investment.
At the exhibition site, the CHISAGE ESS team held a focused conversation with customers and understood the market demand in Iraq. Due to the insufficient development of the Iraqi power grid and related infrastructure, higher requirements were proposed for photovoltaic energy storage products and technologies.
